Elements of Drama

Concluding our first, nine weeks, we were looking at Elements of Drama. Having a bilingual classroom, and trying to teach everything in English only, I am in constant need of visuals and props to help my students to best master our Learning Objectives (here in Texas, they are the also known as TEKS). We had to break down and identify the Elements of Drama in a literary work. I found an excellent file on TeacherspayTeachers.com, which I will link at the bottom of this post.
Some of the different resources that I used were:
 * A Gift from the Heart ( you can compare this to The Legend of the Blue Bonnet).
 * The Diary of Anne Frank
 * Fiddler on the Roof (Small musical segments posted on Youtube.com, they tend to be about 5 minutes in length)

Welcome/ Bienvenidos

Hi! Welcome to Borderland Teacher 4th Grade (Bilingual)'s blog spot. This year will be my first year teaching 4th grade in addition it will be a bilingual class. Though most of the class content will be taught in English, in case of recent arrivals they will be taught in Spanish. I am sharing my teaching experiences with you this year, as well as some of the resources that I will be using. I feel this is an excellent way to later reflect back on the year I have had with my students, be able to identify strengths, and areas that need improvement. Mainly though I am hoping to inspire, serve as a guide, and improve student centered teaching. As a teacher we are here to teacher our students, and give them our best so they can ultimately walk away a better person, student, and citizen. I am so excited to share this new year with you, and please by all means feel free to share, email me, comment, I would love to hear from you. Lets make 2015-2016 the best year possible!
